Crispy Calamari


INGREDIENTS
* 1lb squid cut into rings
* 1 tsp black ground pepper
* 1/2 cup all purpose flour
* 1 1/2 tsp of salt
* 2 tsp garlic powder
* 1 lemon cut into wedges (optional)


METHODS
*Wash and clean the squid and cut into rings

* Pat dry with papwer tower set aside

* Combine the flour, garlic powder, salt and black pepper make sure that its mixed well

* Heat the oup in a deep cooking pot

* Dredge the calamri rings one- at- a time into the flour mixture make sure the the rings are well coated

* Fry the calamari for about 2mins or until it becomes golden brown

* Strain the calamari in a strainer and to let the excess oil dip

* Transfer the calamari into a serving plate

NOTE
Do not use paper towels in taking out the exccess oil of the calamari because it will make the calamri become soft.

FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:
1/2 cup vinegar
3 cloves of garlic minced
1 small onion
A pinch of salt
A pinch of black pepper
1 red chilli cut in small pieces

METHOD
Combine all the mentioned ingredients and mix well
